How to Integrate Etsy with Shopify by LitCommerce

Deciding to integrate Shopify with Etsy – one of the top online marketplaces – means that you must have considered all important factors, including the fees involved. However, after taking advantage of the multichannel selling solution, sure it will be worth every penny.

Now that you know what is Etsy or Shopify, we will gladly show you how to integrate Etsy with Shopify in only 4 steps using LitCommerce.

#Step 1: Connect Etsy to Shopify

Before diving into how to link Shopify to Etsy, make sure you already have a Shopify and Etsy online store available, or else you must create a new one to start integrating.

Firstly, look for the LitCommerce Amazon Ebay Etsy+ app on the Shopify App Store. Then, click on Add App to connect with Shopify.

Then, proceed to log into your Shopify account and click on Install App and you are ready to go!

Give your channel a name before clicking on the Connect your account button. Previously, make sure you have a business account on Etsy before the connection.

Then, a pop-up window will appear asking you to log into your Etsy account and allow LitCommerce access.

Afterward, you can add other sales channels from the LitCommerce dashboard if you want to integrate with other marketplaces as well.

Finally, you have arrived at your dashboard. Now you can get to work from here. Below is a detailed guide on how to connect Shopify to your Etsy store while using the LitCommerce app.

The Perfect Match - Shopify and Etsy

Diversify your selling channels and attract a broader audience by leveraging the combined strength of Shopify and Etsy. Expand your market presence, increase brand visibility, and turn potential customers into loyal fans with LitCommerce by your side.

#Step 2: Import and List products on Etsy

Once you integrate Etsy with Shopify, now is the time to perform the Etsy to Shopify import.

Case 1: You don’t have any products on Etsy (yet).

Here is the guide on how to list them from Shopify.

  1. From the left-sidebar menu, under Management -> click All products.
  2. Choose either all products or certain ones you wish to list on the marketplaces. Then select Etsy from the List Products on Channel dropdown menu.
  3. Click Add as draft now.

Next, choose Etsy store under the Listing section.

You can click on the listing title to edit your listings in Single Edit Mode. The tabs for Vital Info, Images, Variations, Category, Shipping, Digital goods, and Personalization will be shown on the editing page that will show up on the screen.

You must fill in the product’s info before posting your listing to the Etsy website (Etsy requires this information, but it is not yet available in the product information on the main store).

The tab that lacks information will be indicated by a red caution symbol (!) and an error message. There will be a red asterisk (*) next to any fields that are necessary.

Other fields in the listing’s information can also be edited as you see fit.

After updating all the needed information, click one of the buttons below to save all your changes to the listing:

  • Save & Publish – Save and immediately publish your changes on Etsy.
  • Save & Close – Save your listing changes as draft.

Save Change – Save the changes you’ve made, but stay on the page to keep editing.

You can utilize our Quick Grid tool, which is quicker and simpler to use than manual editing, to edit listings in Multi-Edit Mode.

To publish product to Etsy, you will have two options:

  • Publish Live to Etsy: The listing will be moved to the Active tab.

Please be aware that any item you offer for sale on Etsy.com or one of its mobile applications will incur a $0.20 USD listing fee. There are no additional listing costs for things that are currently offered on your Etsy shop to list them on your Pattern website.

  • Publish Draft to Etsy: the listing will go to the Draft section of the Etsy tab.

Case 2: Integrate Etsy with Shopify when having products on both Etsy and Shopify.

You will need to link Etsy products to Shopify. Here is how.

The first way is to use the LitCommerce automatic tool. Choose the option to “Build products from these imported listings”. With the data gathered from the listings (picture, title, etc.), LitCommerce will build products and automatically link listings to the created items.

Friendly note: If you want to import Etsy reviews to Shopify, check out this article for more details.

By selecting this option, LitCommerce can automatically build your product and establish all connections between your listings and inventory using the information about your product (SKUs, Title, Description, etc.).

The SKUs for your Listing will be collected by Auto-Build, which will then connect your Listing to the recently produced Products automatically. As a result, you are no longer required to bother about product linkage.

You will need to manually link items if your SKU numbers don’t line up across all of your channels or if the listing is missing an SKU.

The potential reasons of this problem include the following:

  • The product SKU numbers between channels are inconsistent.
  • Some SKUs are missing from your product listing.

If so, you will need to link those products manually:

  • Simply select Link to a Product by hovering your cursor over the red unlinked icon.
  • Enter the SKU of the item you want to link to in the area after that.
  • Choose the item shown on the screen.
  • When the link listing is finished, a notification will be displayed.

All Shopify listings will be matched to Etsy items when you complete this step for improved inventory control.

#Step 3: Enable Shopify Etsy sync

In this step, you should use the QuickGrid feature to edit Etsy listings better. Single edit mode is used to edit one by one while Multi-edit mode is used for multiple editings.

LitCommerce allows you to sync Shopify and Etsy inventory, price, and order. When you enable the Shopify Etsy sync function, all pricing changes made in your Shopify store will be reflected on Etsy. When an order is placed, Shopify Etsy inventory sync changes the inventory quantity for all channels to match.

To integrate Etsy with Shopify, choose Etsy from the main dashboard and click Channel Settings at the top right corner. You will arrive at 3 sections: Pricing, Inventory, and Order. Click on the switches beside all the Sync options and confirm to activate Etsy Shopify integration.

Pricing synchronization

You can create your own rules to fit how you want them to be displayed on your Etsy store. Price rules allow you to increase or decrease the price of all Etsy listings by a fixed amount or by a percentage. After you set the rule, it will apply to all listings on Etsy.

Shopify Etsy inventory sync

Set inventory rules by indicating the proportion of available inventory or the minimum and maximum amounts to be displayed on Etsy.

For more details, LitCommerce will update adjustments in the central catalog to match your Shopify catalog once Inventory Synchronization is active. After that, it will change the inventory quantity on Etsy by default to correspond with that on your LitCommerce account.

However, the inventory sync only works if you change the quantity on your Shopify Main Store rather than the other way around.

Order synchronization

This feature can also help you avoid overselling by displaying the correct number for each product. For example, if you receive orders through a channel, the product quantity in the LitCommerce central catalog will decrease by the same amount.

By enabling this feature, you will be able to access your Shopify store and fulfill orders from Etsy. In addition, LitCommerce collects new Etsy orders and imports them into Shopify, allowing you to handle orders from your Shopify dashboard.

If you want to manage orders on different channels, deactivate this option. When you’re finished, select Save Setting< at the bottom of the page to save any changes you’ve just made.

#Step 4: Manage Etsy Orders

Incoming orders from Etsy that occurred will be pulled into your Shopify dashboard. Afterward, Litcommerce Shopify and Etsy integration allows you to choose whether to review orders before the fulfillment process or have LitCommerce import them into your existing order flow for centralized multichannel fulfillment.

What makes LitCommerce stand out from other multichannel competitors is that all the importing processes will be 100% automatic. You can manage and fulfill Etsy orders from Shopify with updated and accurate data flow.

Customer Reviews

Excellent customer service and great app. Firstly have to start with the excellent customer service provided to me by Hanah which was 10/10 – absolutely brilliant! She was very helpful, knowledgeable and very, very patient which trying to resolve my issue.

The app has a very clean, easy to navigate user interface and is quite straightforward and easy to use. I has many time-saving functions, like being able to create listing templates to enable you to export and sync with your chosen sales channel quickly and efficiently. After getting to know the export and sync settings things are pretty easy if you are looking to sync your entire Shopify store with eBay or Etsy. The sync itself works flawlessly.

Help is at hand almost instantly if you have any questions or issues. Like I said, the customer service is excellent.
