UNDERSTAND THE NUMBERS
How eBay selling fees are calculated

For most US sales, eBay charges a final value fee as a percentage of the total sale amount, plus a fixed per-order fee. Your category, Store plan, ads, and seller status can change the result.

What counts toward the total sale amount? The item price, buyer-paid shipping, sales tax, and other applicable amounts may all form the fee base.

Example calculation $100 item sale
$100.00 Total sale amount
$13.60 13.6% final value fee
$0.40 Per-order fee
Estimated payout $86.00

Estimated payout after eBay fees only. Product cost, postage, advertising, and other operating expenses are not included.

FAQs – About eBay Fee Calculator

Not seeing your question listed here? Contact us for the quickest answer.

How much does eBay take from a sale?

There is no single percentage for every sale. Your total depends on the category, sale amount, Store subscription, advertising, seller performance, and other optional fees.

Does eBay charge fees on shipping and sales tax?

For many US orders, buyer-paid shipping and collected sales tax are included in the total amount used to calculate the final value fee. Some shipping scenarios have exceptions.

Are eBay fees lower with a Store subscription?

Basic and higher Store subscriptions use a separate category fee schedule that is often lower. The monthly subscription cost is not allocated to each sale in this calculator.

Does this calculator include Promoted Listings fees?

Yes. Enter the ad rate applied to your eligible sale. Priority campaigns charged by click and account-specific advertising terms are outside this estimate.

Is this calculator suitable for eBay Motors?

It includes selected Parts & Accessories and Tires estimates. Vehicle listing fees use a separate structure and should not be calculated as standard product listings.

Is LitCommerce affiliated with eBay?

LitCommerce is an independent multichannel selling platform. eBay is a trademark of eBay Inc. Estimates should be verified against your account statement and eBay’s official fee pages.
