With nearly 2 billion users worldwide, TikTok is more than just a platform for viral videos. Sellers can tag products in videos, partner with creators to promote their products, and go LIVE to showcase items and connect with shoppers in real time. For sellers, especially those looking to sell to Gen Z in 2026, TikTok Shop is a platform hard to ignore.
But before you start selling, there’s one important question: How much does it actually cost to sell on TikTok Shop?
This guide breaks down all TikTok Shop fees for 2026. You’ll see which fees are fixed and which are optional, and how much you’ll actually earn from each sale.
Note: This guide covers TikTok Shop US. Shops in the UK, EU, and Southeast Asia follow separate fee schedules.
Key takeaways:

- There’s no monthly subscription and no listing fee on TikTok Shop.
- The withdrawal fee is $0.05 per bank transfer or 0.9% per PayPal payout, with a $2 minimum withdrawal.

TikTok Shop Fee Structures: Seller Fee Breakdown in 2026
When you’re learning how to sell on TikTok Shop, it’s crucial to understand TikTok Shop seller fees. Knowing them helps you price your products correctly, protect your profit margin, and still stay competitive with other shops. Let’s look at each fee TikTok charges sellers.
TikTok Shop fees fall into two groups: fixed and optional. Fixed fees apply to every seller once orders come in. Optional fees only show up when you opt into a service, like affiliate, ads, or FBT. Here are the full TikTok Shop seller fees for US shops as of 2026.
| Fee | Type | 2026 US rate |
|---|---|---|
| Referral fee | Fixed | 6% for most categories, 5% for select jewelry and pre-owned items |
| Withdrawal fee | Fixed | $0.05 per bank transfer, or 0.9% per PayPal withdrawal |
| Refund administration fee | Fixed, per refund | 20% of the refunded referral fee, capped at $5 per SKU |
| Advertising | Optional | Your budget. Minimum $50 per campaign and $20 per ad group per day |
| FBT fees | Optional | Fulfillment from about $4.28 per unit. Storage free for 60 days |
| Affiliate commission | Optional | Your rate. Most sellers offer 5% to 20% |
1. Referral fees
The referral fee is TikTok Shop’s commission on every completed order. When sellers ask how much TikTok Shop takes from sellers, this is the number they mean. It’s also what people call the TikTok Shop commission fee.
TikTok charges a referral fee from 3% to 6% of the product price of each completed order, depending on the category. Since April 1, 2024, the standard rate has been 6% for most categories. A few categories pay less, according to TikTok’s official referral fee:
| Category | Referral fee rate |
|---|---|
| Most categories (beauty, fashion, home, electronics, toys, pet supplies, and more) | 6% |
| Diamond, gold, jade, platinum, ruby, sapphire, and emerald jewelry | 5% |
| Other jewelry (silver, pearl, crystal, semiprecious stones) | 6% |
| Pre-owned bags, watches, footwear, apparel, refurbished electronics, trading cards, coins, and collectible figures | 5% |
| Collectibles and pre-owned items, portion of a sale above $10,000 | 3% |
So how does TikTok calculate the referral fee?
TikTok doesn’t charge the referral fee on your product price alone. It charges it on the total sale price of the completed order, minus tax, with any TikTok-funded discount added back. Here’s how TikTok calculates your referral fees:
Referral fee = Rate × (Customer payment + Platform discount − Tax)
Customer payment is the total the buyer pays at checkout, including shipping and sales tax, after all coupons. Platform discount is any coupon or discount funded by TikTok.
Let’s take an example of a $35 tote bag:
| Amount | |
|---|---|
| Product price | $35.00 |
| Shipping paid by the buyer | +$6.00 |
| Your coupon (seller discount) | -$4.00 |
| TikTok coupon (platform discount) | -$3.00 |
| Sales tax | +$2.00 |
| Customer payment | $35.00 + $6.00 − $4.00 − $3.00 + $2.00 = $36.00 |
| Referral fee (6% referral rate) | 6% * ($36.00 + $3.00 – $2.00) = $2.22 |
TikTok Shop Fees News:
On August 4, 2026, TikTok Shop reportedly raised the standard US referral fee for most non-food categories from 6% to 8%. According to the same reports, selected beauty and electronics sub-categories now pay between 9.5% and 11%, while food and grocery stayed at around 5%.
However, TikTok’s official fee table still lists 6%, so it’s worth checking your actual rate on your settlement statements in Seller Center.
2. Withdrawal transaction fees
TikTok charges a small service fee each time you withdraw money from your seller balance to your account. The fee depends on where the money goes, per TikTok’s US withdrawal rules:
| Payout method | TikTok withdrawal transaction fee | Minimum withdrawal | Arrival time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bank account | $0.05 per transaction | $2 | 3 to 5 business days |
| PayPal | 0.9% of the amount | $2 | 1 business day |
The bank fee is flat, so it barely registers. PayPal’s fee grows with your payout. Withdrawing $2,000 costs $18 through PayPal but only $0.05 by bank transfer. So, if you can wait a few extra days, use a bank account. Save PayPal for times when you need cash fast, like restocking a product that just went viral.

Also, keep in mind that money only reaches your balance after an order settles. Newer shops usually take longer to settle than established ones, so plan your cash flow for the first few weeks.
3. Advertising fees
Running TikTok Ads is optional, but also keep this as one of your TikTok seller fees in mind. You pay what you spend in TikTok Ads Manager, and you control the budget.
So, how much does a TikTok ad cost? TikTok does set minimum budgets for your ads, divided into:
- Campaign-level budget: at least $50 for both daily and lifetime budgets.
- Ad group-level budget: at least $20 per day. With a lifetime budget, you need $20 for each day the ad group runs, so a 7-day ad group needs at least $140.
Campaign budget is the overall budget for your campaign. If you run several ads under one campaign, this budget covers all of them. Meanwhile, an ad group is a smaller set of ads within your campaign. Each ad group has its own budget, so you can target a different audience or promote a different product.
So the realistic entry point for paid ads on TikTok is $20 to $50 a day. Paid ads are where many TikTok selling fees quietly grow, and they can add up fast. So, try to set a weekly cap before you launch your first campaign.
A few tips to keep ad costs under control:
- Promote proven products first. Let organic videos and creators show you what converts, then put the budget behind those listings.
- Track ad cost per order, not just total spend. Divide spend by orders for each product. If it’s higher than your profit per order, the ad is losing money.
- Scale slowly. TikTok recommends raising budgets by no more than 40% at a time during the learning phase, and 30% after it.

4. FBT fees (Fulfilled by TikTok)
Fulfilled by TikTok (FBT) is TikTok’s optional fulfillment program. You send inventory to TikTok’s warehouses, and TikTok picks, packs, and ships each order. You don’t pay anything for FBT unless you join it.

FBT orders free shipping by default since June 16, 2025, with no order minimum. If you opt out of free shipping, orders under $30 pay $5.99 for shipping, and you get a $0.75 per-unit rebate.
If you use FBT, FBT fees come from four places:
- Fulfillment fee: Charged per unit, based on weight and the number of units in the order. Single-unit orders start at about $4.28 for items 4 oz or lighter. Multi-unit orders pay less per unit. Here is the 2026 FBT Fulfillment Fee (Effective November 1, 2026) (4 oz to 10 lb).
| Weight | 1 unit order | 2 units order | 3 units order | 4+ units order |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4 oz or less | $4.28 | $2.52 | $1.91 | $1.56 |
| 4+ to 8 oz | $4.52 | $2.91 | $2.36 | $1.93 |
| 8+ to 12 oz | $4.70 | $3.05 | $2.61 | $2.23 |
| 12+ to 16 oz | $5.10 | $3.16 | $2.78 | $2.36 |
| 1+ to 2 lb | $5.71 | $3.92 | $3.14 | $2.60 |
| 2+ to 3 lb | $6.27 | $4.30 | $3.25 | $2.76 |
| 3+ to 4 lb | $6.92 | $4.70 | $3.55 | $3.12 |
| 4+ to 5 lb | $7.66 | $5.09 | $4.54 | $4.54 |
| 5+ to 6 lb | $8.58 | $6.19 | $5.46 | $5.46 |
| 6+ to 7 lb | $8.88 | $6.50 | $6.14 | $6.08 |
| 7+ to 8 lb | $9.22 | $6.90 | $6.70 | $6.50 |
| 8+ to 9 lb | $9.42 | $7.00 | $6.77 | $6.59 |
| 9+ to 10 lb | $9.63 | $7.46 | $7.30 | $7.30 |
- Storage fee: This fee is currently free for the first 60 days, then charged daily per cubic foot. Stock stored over 60 days and longer is charged from $0.03 to $0.27 per cubic foot per day.
- Hub placement fee: Optional and charged per unit. You only pay it if you send stock to an inbound hub instead of straight to a fulfillment center.
- Return fee: Since June 1, 2026, the old flat $3 per order has been replaced by per-unit fees, based on the return option you choose in Seller Center.
| 2026 FBT Return Rates | Fee |
|---|---|
| Return handling without inspection | $0.70 per unit |
| Return handling with inspection | $1.00 per unit |
| Restocking a sellable item into FBT inventory | $1.00 per unit |
| Re-packaging after inspection, if needed | $0.50 per unit |
FBT rates change several times a year. So, don’t forget to check the current FBT rate card in Seller Center to keep updated on TikTok’s current fees applied to your shop.
5. Returns and refunds
When you refund an order, TikTok Shop charges a Refund Administration Fee.
The Refund Administration Fee is 20% of the original referral fee you paid, and it covers TikTok’s cost of processing the refund. Since May 15, 2025, it’s capped at $5 per SKU.
Here’s how it works on the $35 tote bag we mentioned in the referral fee example:
- Referral fee paid: 6% * $37 = $2.22
- Refund administration fee / Total refund fee: 20% * $2.22 = $0.44
- Referral fee returned to you: $2.22 – $0.44 = $1.78
However, if the buyer cancels before the order is shipped and meets the Auto-canceling criteria, you won’t have to pay this refund fee.
6. Affiliate fees
TikTok Shop’s affiliate program lets creators promote your products in their videos and LIVEs. You set the commission rate, and you only pay it on sales that come through a creator’s content. Commission rates may also vary by product, creator (based on follower count), and collaboration type.
Besides commission affiliates, you can also work with creators in other ways, such as sending gifts or free products, paying a flat fee for sponsored posts, or combining a fixed payment with sales commissions.
For example, say you sell a $45 yoga mat with free shipping, and you offer creators 10%:
- Direct sale (no creator): TikTok’s 6% referral fee is $2.70. That’s your only TikTok deduction, so you keep $42.30.
- Affiliate sale at 10%: The referral fee is still $2.70, and the creator earns $4.50 (10% of $45). Total deductions come to $7.20, so you keep $37.80.
Remember that affiliate commission stacks on top of the referral fee. A 15% creator rate plus the 6% referral fee means 21% of the order is gone before product cost, shipping, or other expenses. Don’t forget free samples, either. Most creators want to try a product before posting, so budget for sample units and shipping.
So what rate should you offer? It depends heavily on your category. Here are some common commission rates for some categories:
- Health: 20%
- Beauty & personal care: 15%
- Women’s wear & Underwear: 10%
- Sports & Outdoor: 10%
- Fashion Accessories: 8%
Pay more for proven creators through targeted collaborations, and keep your open rate near your category median. Products with strong creator demand, like these top-selling TikTok products, often justify a higher rate because a single strong video can bring a spike of orders.
Besides the fees above, if you use other TikTok Shop tools to power up your shop, your TikTok Shop fees will also be added. In these cases, note all the apps you use, so you don’t miss out on any of your spending.
TikTok Shop Fees: In a Nutshell
Here’s how the TikTok Shop fees add up on a single order. Say you sell a $40 ceramic mug set (1.5 lb, 8 × 6 × 5 in) through FBT with free shipping, and a creator drives the sale at a 10% commission:
| Fee type | Amount | What you have left |
|---|---|---|
| Sale price | $40.00 | $40.00 |
| Referral fee (6%) | −$2.40 | $37.60 |
| Creator commission (10%) | −$4.00 | $33.60 |
| FBT fulfillment fee | −$5.71 | $27.89 |
| Withdrawal fee | −$0.05 | $27.84 |
So on a $40 sale, you keep $27.84, or about 70%, before product cost. Without the creator, you’d keep $31.84.
However, we haven’t counted these 2 fees yet:
- Running ads? Budget at least $20 per ad group per day, or $50 per campaign, on top of these fees.
- If the order is refunded, TikTok keeps $0.48 (20% of the $2.40 referral fee) as a refund administration fee.
