How to Add Products to Google Merchant Center
In this LitCommerce Academy tutorial, you’ll learn four easy ways to add your products to Google Merchant Center so you can start selling on Google Shopping quickly and effectively.
What the video covers:
Method 1: Upload products using a feed file
This is the most flexible and scalable option, especially if you use platforms like Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix, or BigCommerce. With LitCommerce, you can:
- Easily generate a Google-ready product feed
- Automatically categorize products using smart suggestions
- Map required fields with helpful visual cues (red = required, yellow = recommended, blue = optional)
- Use smart rules and templates to convert availability, pricing, and more
- Run a quality check and download a valid product feed URL for use in Google Merchant Center
Method 2: Google Sheets upload
Use Google’s spreadsheet template to manually input product data. A great choice for small inventories or sellers comfortable with spreadsheets. You’ll also learn how to schedule automatic updates via Google Sheets.
Method 3: Manual product entry
Add products one by one directly in Google Merchant Center. Best for very small catalogs, but we explain why it’s less efficient and more error-prone.
Method 4: Content API for shopping
Ideal for developers, this method lets you programmatically connect your product database with Google Merchant Center for full automation.
