Templates & Template Rules – How to Create and Apply?
This LitCommerce Academy video shows you how to create and apply listing templates and recipes to list and edit products across multiple marketplaces faster – without filling in the same details for hundreds of products one by one.
What are listing templates and rules?
A template is a set of settings (title, category, price, or shipping) for a specific channel, used to create or edit listings quickly — and any changes auto-update your linked listings.
A template rule is a group of templates you apply together, so all of them are added to a product at once.
How to create a listing template & rule on LitCommerce?
Step 1: Create a template
- Click Templates and Recipes in the sidebar and select your marketplace (e.g., TikTok). Select to create a template that fits your need, enter a name, select the matching category, fill in the required fields, and Save.
- Tick Choose as Default to auto-apply it to all new listings.
Step 2: Apply templates to your listings
- Go to your channel listings page, check the products you want, click Apply Templates, choose your templates, and confirm. If you edit a template later, open each draft listing and click Reload so the changes take effect.
Step 3: Create and apply a rule
- Click Template Rules → Add New, select the templates to include, and name it.
- Optionally, click Add Condition to auto-assign it to multiple products (e.g., all items whose title contains “pajamas”), then Save. To apply manually, select your products, click Apply Templates, and choose your rule.
Note: The auto-assign condition applies only to new listings, and if a product matches both a recipe rule and a default template, the recipe rule takes precedence.
And that’s everything about listing templates and rules – a faster way to manage listings across all your channels.
